The Devil is in the details

More information on my latest walk..

It was pointed out that my GPS elevation graphs look very smooth. I think that's down to two factors. Firstly, the distance (38km) is helping to smooth them out. Secondly, the graphs in the last post were using the elevation data from the map, rather than my GPS unit. In the screenshot above, I've posted both graphs.

Just for fun, I've also included the graph for speed. It clearly shows the use of the bike at the start and end of the walk. The speed also increases and decreases (as you would expect) with the ascents and descents. Breaks and photo stops are also visible on the speed graph.

The spike at 15km incidentally is the point at which after cacheing our packs for the ascent of The Devil's Point, I had to run back down to get the forgotten tripod. Oops!
